talk fusion scam |
Surfing the net I came by this website called talk fusion. They are into some kind of video communication products. I was so amazed by it that I explored the website a bit more. I found out their best product is video emailing. Its new to me and it made me very curios. Ive never received or send a video via email before.
To get more details I usually go to the FAQ page and this is what I saw:
This is a screen shot of what I saw in their FAQ page, It describes how their video email works.
I did not expect to see this, they advertise it like its so amazing that it is one of a kind never before existed innovation. I was so disappointed! This is far from what I thought, I expect to watch a video in the emails inbox itself!
I am not a computer geek but how is this different if I did a screen shot of my youtube video, with a play icon on it so it looks like its a real video, and with some HTML trick, I will put hyperlink in that picture linking to my video, then email it? Recipients will then click on the photo that looks like a video then they will be re directed to my youtube video. Same effect achieved but it did not cost me anything. Correct me if I am wrong but that is how I understand the description. And I think their advertising is a deceit. Alluring people to pay hundreds of dollars when it can be done free.
Then I wondered to myself, why is this product/service overpriced?
Until I found this: http://www.talkfusion.com/resources/docs/Comp_Plan_2012_English.pdf
That link leads to a pdf file about their compensation plan.
I said to myself. Aha! that is why...
Its the usual MLM/Networking model of business. The signs and symptoms are there. Browse through the pdf file and you can see luxury cars and luxury vacation to Hawaii. Typical strategy of how MLM attracts people.
I am not a perfect being, I may be wrong and I don't want to play smart or expert so I need some feedback from you.

Technical trick is well described in the blog post.
ReplyDeleteTalk Fusion "video" mail is in fact simple HTML mail (yes, something existing here for over decade). Image with screenshot of still video and with player button overlay is embedded into the email body - and the hyper link to the web page with a media player and the target video content is hidden behind the image. Again - we have clickable pictures in emails for years. With little bit of experience and computer skill, you can make the same effect with couple of mouse clicks within most email clients (and with YouTube or other video sharing service)... for free. Advantage of TF system is: service is automated and user friendly. Disadvantage: it costs more than few bucks as long as you are subscribed even if you don't use it).
Think of it... do you you really need to pay for this kind of service?- I think you need not if you plan to use it for private purposes. And think of it twice if you want to use it for business purposes: sent videos are public and unless you pay more for "private labeling", your videos are branded with TF logo and links (which might not be desirable). And deliverability of TF emails is not as high as you expected - many sites block them as spam. So think twice.
OK, so what drives this business on (now in countries like Russia, Kazakhstan and Indonesia)? Of course compensation plan. But in my opinion, most associates sell the opportunity, not the product - and thus turning legit business (with usable, but highly overpriced product) into pyramidal scheme scam. This business will run around the world and eventually silently will disappear in two years.
That's it.

ReplyDeleteEconomic Frauds Scam - https://economicfrauds.net
Around May 23, this year my office received a call from a representative (he refused to mention his name) from Economic Frauds Detection & Prevention Inc. telling us that someone had filed a damaging complaint against our company, although he would give no further details, and we have no knowledge of any such complaint. During the conversation, he suggested that we should make a payment of $650 and in return that they will not make the complaint public as it would damage our reputation. We told him that we would think about it, because it is a corporate matter, and we don't have the discretion to make payments for reasons like this without approval from our bosses. Up until this week, they have been calling us about it continuously. They even threatened to make our company famous with the information that they have by exaggerating the complaint and posting it publicly on their site and all over the internet. They even gave us their site name, which is https://economicfrauds.net, and asked us to check for ourselves what had happened to other companies that refused to settle with them in the past.
