EPX Body scam or not?

EPX body is a new MLM/Networking company lunched just March this year. Founded by Dan Putnam in Utah USA and now they are here in the Philippines. They have a range of health and wellness products that specializes on weight loss. Namely, EPXbody burn, EPXbody cardio, EPXbody restore, EPXbody nourish, EPXbody detox and EPXbody enhance. At the time of this writing the main product available here in the Philippine is the EPXBody Restore.

Compensation Plan

I would assume that the compensation plan format is the same for the US and Philippines. The only difference is the currency used. If you are from the US or from any other country then this pdf link is for you www.epxbody.com/pdf/compPlan.pdf and if you are from the Philippines you will be more familiar to this link www.epxbody.com.ph/opportunity/

As I see it, their compensation plan has no much different with a usual MLM/Networking company so it will be redundant if I will discuss more of it.

What I Like

The thing that I like with EPXBody is that they have a strong products. Studies shows that they are effective (see adaptogen). They are even featured in the famous Dr. Oz show. In addition, this is newly launched, and with MLM/Networking, the earlier you join the greater the chances of you making money.

Some questions

There are some things I am not sure and I doubt about EPXBody. First is about their founder Dan Putnam. he is also the President and co founder of another MLM company Xooma Worldwide launched in 2005. That company is still in business today and ironically it also sells health related product in competition with EPXBody. If this is a bad sign or not I don't know but I can not help myself to be curios, why did he launched another company with the same niche? Why not make EPXBody an extension of Xooma? And why is Xooma not openly linked to EPXBody?

It is a common tendency for MLM companies for their products to be overpriced. I don't have a product catalog of EPXBody so I can not possibly give a say if it is overpriced or not, its up to you people to closely watch over it. Another thing to consider is how needed is this product to lose weight? If loosing weight is your reason for joining then this might be a good consideration for you. If you have the money then I think this is nice little boost for you to achieve your ideal weight. However, please remember that this is not a substitute for proper diet and exercise, EPXBody is designed to WORK WITH diet and exercise. So with it alone, it is good as nothing. If you don't have the money then there is nothing wrong if you stick with proper diet and exercise alone.

Their products comes in spray containers that they promote the new mediation route of oral spray. They argue that intra-oral sprays are better than any other medication route as shown in their graph below:
questionable graph of medication route absorption rates
questionable graph of medication route absorption rates

I am sorry to say but this is contrary to what I have learned studying Pharmacology in collage. To make it simple for everyone the principle goes like this. The longer pathway the medication has to travel to the bloodstream the lower the absorption rates. The basic routes are Parenteral, Enteral and Topical, from fastest to slowest in that order.

Parenteral= A route that is directly absorbed or placed into the blood stream, has almost immediate adsorption and effect a a includes subcutaneous and intamuscular injections, the fastest type is IV(intravenous) injection.

Enteral= A medication administration via oral mucosa and gastrointestinal tract. includes oral pills, oral liquids, sublingual and rectal suppositories. The fastest of which is  sublingual as it is directly absorbed by the high capillary network under your tongue into circulation, some even consider sublingual a parenteral route.

Topical=applied to the skin includes creams, ointments and trans-dermal patch

From the knowledge I have and by critical thinking, EPXBody oral spray is classified under enteral route and clearly it is not sublibgual as it is a different entity shown in the graph. Therefore, for me it must be oral and ingested, absorbed by lower GI tract and it is far from what they claim to be better than any other medication route. The only sense I see it is absorbed rapidly is the fact that it is a spray, its surface area is maximized therefore increases rate of absorption. Another logical reason I thought of is that maybe its spray mist can be inhaled and traveled directly into the lungs where they are absorbed into the blood stream. But from the pictures, it looks like they are only finger powered sprays. These kind of sprays do not create mists as fine as those of pressured canister inhalants/puffs like salbutamol for asthmatic patients. I do not know if EPXBody sprays is pressurized or not but if it isn't then the droplets may be too big to be air like that can be absorbed in the lungs. It probably will be too big and heavy to be mixed with your saliva and you can even taste it, then goes down to you lower GI tract to be absorbed.

Is EPX Body scam or not?

  1. If you really study Pharmacology in college, you should know the route "SUBLINGUAL". This route is purely use especially for patients known to be hypertensive. They take medications such as losartan and put it under the tongue, and the blood pressure will fall down and became normal. That is the same thing with the product of EPXBody. The moment you spray it under the tongue, the supplement goes exactly to the capillaries, (capillaries are the one who connects the vein and the artery for gas and nutrient exchange)and it would be distributed all over your body. You need to research more, especially if you do not have any appropriate facts about your article.

    1. first of all thank you for the comment

Its you who needs to read and understand the article before making an intelligent comment.

I suggest you to use your common sense. Look at the bar graph. It was taken from the EPXBody website itself.

SUBLINGUAL LIQUID as they describe it is different from INTRA-ORAL SPRAY route of EPXBody.
Which means to say EPXBody is NOT sublingual of any kind as it is a different entity in the graph.

If sublingual route is purely used for hypertensive drugs then what is the sense of comparing it in the graph?

And claiming that sublingual route is "PURELY used especially for patients known to be hypertensive" is a sign of ignorance. Thyroid drugs,Psychoactives and even some vaccines are known to be administered sublingually. Clearly its you who needs some education.

My advice to you is do not be to eager to discredit me if you did not read and understand the article first. Do not try to use and explain technical terms to pretend you are knowledgeable and end up to be a pointless idiot.

      :)

    2. says the one proving himself wrong in the same sentence. Automatically using the terms "you need an education" proves you really don't have what you claim. The chart, isn't from our site. Notice how most of your information came from wiki? the most discretible site in existence? Yeah, you may want to try valid information next time. Don't pretend to have an education you don't. If you did, you wouldn't need to look up the "Route of drug administration" if you truly had your supposed education. I also see you googled the definition of pharmacology. YOU SIR ARE AN EPIC FAIL!

    3. Ok, wiki is not reliable but it does not also mean it is false all the time.

to cut this shit short let's go directly to the point,

"Is Intra oral spray the same with sublingual route?"

"Is intra oral spray (If it does exist) more effective than sublingual??"

Those are the points we need to answer if it is true or not.. the blogger presented his points with his own references, if you think its not correct then present your own sources and prove him/her wrong.

    1. Funny thing is, niether are we fraudulent or wrong. More than 50% of the information in this article is false. The chart, isn't from our site. And his "Studies" are falisfyable by his own statements.

  5. The thing that troubles me the most is that one of their products uses phenalalanine and Advantra Z. Advantra Z was the substitute for the ba nned ephedra and absolutely should never be taken by anyone who is on MAOIs or even has the slightest case of hypertension, so that eliminates many people who are trying to lose weight. I am strong in the belief that the network marketing or MLM model is ethical, because over my years, I have seen great results, but not all companies act responsibly. After reading studies and reviews of ingredients, people should avoid certain ingredients like the plague and that also includes promotion activity. If you promote a harmful ingredient, than you are simply in it only for the money, but if you are in it to offer a health benefit to those that you wish to help, than you will always take care to research what you offer. I say that you need to avoid Advantra Z like the plague and that comes in the "Burn" product. I am just waiting for the day that Advantra Z joins Ephedra in the list of banned ingredients. Time will tell, but if their is a question about a potential stroke or heart attack, ask yourself if it is worth it. If there is a potential to see the same fate as that pitcher from a few years back with the Baltimore Orioles that dropped dead from the use of Ephedra, than the decision to promote products containing Advantra Z is truly unethical and that should decide how sustainable your business is and how much you care about the people that you support.

  6. I personally know Mr. Putnam, he went to high school with my mother. And really, its good you say that its your opinions stated in this article here. Cause half of what you say is false in many regards. My mother is a health practitioner working on her Masters in hollistic health. She supports these folks ten-fold. Dan is no moron, he himself has taken a multi-tude of health practitioning classes. For one, the company wasn't launched in 2012 it was founded and launched in 2008. More than half of the ingredients you list aren't in their products (this is the all-natural branch of USANA, Xooma, and EPX companies) they are all inter-connected. Whom of which I know many employees of all of them. I'd really appreciate if you wouldn't bash my employer, and supplier of my supplements. They work, and are more effective than a placebo. Also, said chart is NOT from our site.

  7. Since I have been with EPX Body from July, 2012, here is my overall rating. A+++++ Why? In 23 years full time in MLM I have never seen higher quality supplements at lower prices in ANY MLM I have seen to date. On top of that, they have the most generous compensation plan I have seen to date as well. If people would simply review their information completely, they would come to the same conclusion. Just go to their main site (not mine) at http://www.epxbody.com & their site for the energy drink called Thrive is http://www.epxbodythrive.com Questions? contact me if you wish. Tom

  9. Please BEWARE of SCAM FRAUD by Economic Frauds Detection & Prevention Inc.

    Economic Frauds Scam - https://economicfrauds.net

Around May 23, this year my office received a call from a representative (he refused to mention his name) from Economic Frauds Detection & Prevention Inc. telling us that someone had filed a damaging complaint against our company, although he would give no further details, and we have no knowledge of any such complaint. During the conversation, he suggested that we should make a payment of $650 and in return that they will not make the complaint public as it would damage our reputation. We told him that we would think about it, because it is a corporate matter, and we don't have the discretion to make payments for reasons like this without approval from our bosses. Up until this week, they have been calling us about it continuously. They even threatened to make our company famous with the information that they have by exaggerating the complaint and posting it publicly on their site and all over the internet. They even gave us their site name, which is https://economicfrauds.net, and asked us to check for ourselves what had happened to other companies that refused to settle with them in the past.
