MLM/Networking Scam or not?

Let me start by directly answering the title. MLM/Networking business model IS NOT A SCAM...

BUT ONLY IF IT IS  PRODUCT BASED...

What I mean is that true legitimate networking should only be a way of distributing the PRODUCT or SERVICES. Not just any product, but quality fair priced product. Products that people buy because they need or want it NOT that they have to because it is required.

Some very good example of true networking companies are AVON, MSE, Tupperware, Sara Lee, Red Logo, etc.. Im sure most of you are familiar with most of these companies. From the start, there is nothing you can complain about them. You immediately know without doubt they are doing legitimate business.
The same thing also happens when you are invited in one of those dodgy seminars, trainings or job interviews. You immediately have a bad feeling the first time you hear their opening spiel. That is because they really are a crap. They do not sell products or services, what they are selling are promises of riches, false hopes and dreams you can have in a short period of time sometimes without doing anything. Many of them also comes with products just to avoid or work around legalities, but it is very clear on how they make money. Its all about recruits/invites/heads you put below you. Their products are just junks and OVERPRICED because what you really pay for is the commissions of those layers above you going up to the top of the pyramid, not the value product. This system is what I call PYRAMIDING SCHEME and that for me is a SCAM! Unfortunately, there are many of them out there, or shall I say MAJORITY of these so called networking companies are RECRUITMENT BASED and therefore a Pyramiding scheme, a SCAM!

Common pyramid networking scheme scripts and reasons

Here I will be discussing most of the commonly used lines, crooked teachings and tactics of this fraudulent recruitment based networking industry

1. Playing around terms:
"Everything is a pyramid, your family, church, school, your job and even the government. They have one head or at least a person above you who is over you and better off than you. Therefore we are not any different "

"everyday we do networking, we talk about nice experiences and things to our friends, post it in facebook or tweet it. This is also what we do."

==> Many of us already have a bad notion to the of the term pyramid and networking and those are mostly the scripts they use to diffuse the smell of their crap.
Pyramiding scheme is more than just a structure. It is about the principle or description on HOW THE COMPANY MAKES MONEY(Recruitment/downlines).
On the other hand, networking on that script is used as a general term. The networking that we do everyday is the innocent and genuine expression of our sad, happy or exciting experiences. Their networking is the dark side. They do it for a purpose or a motive, much like a predator hunting for prey. They are starving to make money out of you. That is why it is not so surprising that they will do everything even nasty things like tricks, hard convincing, deception and every weakness they can exploit just to convince you to join. What saddens me more is that they also do it to their family and good friends which most of the time ends their good relationship with them.

2.About risk
"risk is essential it is for your success. risk is part of life, there is no way to avoid it, you just have to accept it."

Half of it is true but the other part is a lie. Take note, Half truth is still a lie. They do this to prepare you for the risky business they are about to present, and so that there will be low resistance in letting go of your hard earned money to them. Let me tell you the whole truth about this trick. Not all risk are unavoidable, you dont have to "just accept it", instead wisely manage it. This is the truth that they don't want you to know, they even stop you from knowing this fact. I actually hear them first hand saying: "dont think too much", "Dont over analyze", "Dont be too smart" and "Dont talk or ask advise from your family and friends after this seminar/meeting". In other words its them simply telling you dont use your head, be an idiot give us your money. Im sure if you have gone to one of their meetings or talk to one of them your not a stranger to this experience.

Let me share to you my own understanding about risk and how I classify them aside from what we usually know as low, medium and high.

Two of my main classification are what I call innate/natural risk and created risk.

Innate or natural risk is the kind that is upon us since birth. It is unavoidable but most of the time manageable. Management of this risk does not completely eradicate it, your just minimizing the chance of it happening.
 Examples:
>the risk of you getting sick- no matter how healthy you are there is still the chance you will be sick in your lifetime, some of it might even be deadly, it can be managed by keeping yourself healthy, balanced diet, exercise etc. But there are also things that you can not control like your genes.
>accidents- you live and breath this risk, this can happen anywhere in anytime, when you walk up and down the stairs, when you drive your car, when you cross the street, cook your food etc.. etc..This can not be completely cleared out but can be managed by following safety rules and guidelines.

Created Risk- as the name suggest, this risk is the result associated by your actions/decisions. Although you can have complete control over it. It does not mean you will completely steer away from it. This risk is essential to your growth and learning, However this can also lead to your complete failure if not managed properly. The way I manage this risk is to divide it into two kinds. The ethical/positive risk (the one I take) and the negative risk, (the one I avoid). These two kinds of created risk are mainly determined by the "Why" or the reason for taking it and the effect on it to others.

Positive created risk- These are the risk you allow to expose yourself with the consideration of how it will affect others in the hope of getting results that are positive in nature. It can be for your learning, growth or the common good. Even if unsuccessful there is still a positive gains mostly learning's, good friends and thier support and a step closer to your goal.
 Example:
>starting up a legitimate business, charity, foundation
>Science experiments and inventions.
>Legitimate investments

Negative created Risk- Risk resulting to actions or decisions for satisfying selfish desires that are negative in nature. Most of the time also resulting risk or negative effects to others. Even when you are already successful in getting what you want. It is ill gotten and negative in nature and therefore you still have to pay for it sooner or later, sometimes at a much higher price. There is no winning in this type of risk.
Example:
>robbery or theft
>Smuggling and other illegal business
>Recruitment based networking- This is basically what this blogs topic and I feel the need to explain why I classified this questionable industry under my negative created risk. First of all is the reason why people venture in this kind of fraudulent business. And it is what you think.
1.THE PROMISE OF RICHNESS
2.HAVE IT IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME
3.HAVE IT WITHOUT WORKING HARD OR NOT DOING ANYTHING AT ALL

Admit it or not, most of us (including me)  has this weakness. This is the part of you that they feed on. It does not look so bad, in fact there is nothing wrong with getting rich and have a good lifestyle but the problem is the "How to get it is not considered". Furthermore, the system itself in recruitment based networking is totally wrong. Those desires are purely in your "id" person where ethics does not exist. It is very a strong desire and can be dangerous if you gas up that fire. Im sure your no alien to their show offs like flashy expensive cars, huge house and lot, bank cheques , expensive tours abroad, high end electronic gadgets and all stuff luxurious.

You may end up successful which is very unlikely but in the process you lied and deceived a lot of people including your family and best friend. You can lose them and damage your reputation or worse, you influenced them to be like you and get their lives ruined. I dont have have to enumerate all the bad effects/karma this will give you as it is very obvious. One can predict your future as easy as filling the gaps of missing letters from A-Z.

3.Optimistic, Pessimistic or Realistic?
For these people there are just two kinds of person, the enlightened ones (positive thinkers) that believe everything they say without question and the negative close-minded people. The ones who still has a working brain to think if they believe or not. I can see some similarities from the way a cult works. Brainwashing you in every way they can. If you're already in or just about to, they will prevent you from being influenced by the outside world and instilling in your head that they are your only hope to financial freedom. Everything else like employment and real business will only lead you to failure. They call us names like negative thinker, a close minded person, hopeless, useless person with no dreams in life.

They say these things because this is what they sell, dreams. They want it to be your reality, that is what you pay for when you join them anyway. They know you can only win in the realm of dreams where all they say happens. That what you are doing is perfectly fine. Wherein you recruited many people, your recruits recruited many others as well and that there is no such thing as saturation point. There are infinite people joining in your downline everyday. For us sane people, these are just big "If's" that is not likely to happen as the real world shows us. Its an established fact that only 3% of them makes money, their scheme wont last long and they system itself is unethical. Not believing them is far from being a negative thinker, that's just being realistic and doing what is right! Also, dont get me wrong I believe in positive thinking. However, we still should be attached to reality and doing what is right and ethical in the first place.

4. Employment vs Networking
One of the crooked teachings of these people is the anti employment mindset. Although we must admit it has its own limitations, I strongly disagree with the way they demonize it. Employment is the most basic way of living, almost all of us survives through and because of it. Our society totally depends on it, imagine if there are no nurses and doctors, army, police, drivers, janitors, farmers, media, firemen, teachers, architects, engineers, lawyers construction workers etc.. Can we exist? Even the the capital we need to start a business mostly comes from being an employee. Considering how employment is essential to us, is there any point to preach hate on it? Even if has its limitations we can not do away with it. The solution is to use it to get money and buy assets.
Its very ironic for those people in recruitment based networking to evangelize positive thinking when they are throwing shit on people that are working. Especially those on a minimum wage. But look who's talking? They on the first place are deceiving people to make money which is wrong and with almost a negligible chance of success. At least people who are working on a minimum wage helps the countries economy, doing an important role in a functional society and are able to feed their family. Recruitment networking on the other hand are just plaguing peoples lives especially the youth through their lies, deception and erratic teachings. At the bottom of their pyramid where 97% them are, they can not even feed themselves.

5. Real Business = Recruitment based Networking??

Almost all of there speeches, flattery and inspirational lines are based on the beauty and advantages of a successful business. They even try and compare themselves with big companies and popular businessman in an effort to make them look legitimate and misled people you can be like those tycoons through them. Business sells products/services that people need use and want PERIOD!! Other than that is monkey business!! Selling hopes, dreams and promises is worst!

6. Blasphemous!

It is not rare for some of these recruitment based networking to use the name of God in there desperate attempt to convince people they are not the bad guys and are doing Gods will.  I often see a lot of their advertising materials using lines from the bible and glorifying God as part of their marketing strategy. Sadly not everyone is wise enough to recognize it.
Let this be a caution to this savage strategy of getting people in their scheme. This cult like way of building downlines are beginning to gain popularity. This will not only harm you financially but spiritually a well.

  1. I've joined seminars of different mlm groups. There is one common theme: greed. I'm an employee and i'm working hard to feed my family. It's such a big shame for this parasites to look down on employed people. We earn money the hard way and we do not take short cuts. You think that you are working smart? No way your just fooling other people and exploiting their weaknesses and benefit from it. I am 100% in agreement with this article. No pain no gain!

  2. If you don't want to join a networking company, then don't! no one is forcing you. it's up to you! hindi ka naman tinutukan ng patalim or baril para sumali ka. not every networking company is the same. you have to do research. hindi porket binary scam na. if you want to be rich, and you think employment is the answer then go for it. sino ba yayaman dyan? may-ari diba. and when you make a good work, what do you get? tap on the back? certificate? how about some cash? and you will realized retirement age ka na, and thanks you are rich now kasi may retirement benefit ka. siguro milyon makukuha mo, anong gagawin mo dun? business or pangmaintenance sa sakit mo? friend, not all networking companies are the same. Look for an ethical networking company, that doesn't promise you richness, but offers you good financial income if you do the business the right way. Kung sasali ka, gawin mo! hindi yung kapag walang resulta you are blaiming the company or the whole industry.
if you think you're right or you think you are wrong, you are right! :-)

FIRST- dapat yung pera na nilabas mo is katumbas or mas mataas yung kapalit na product mo. BASED nga yun LIKE FRONTROW. NETWORK MARKETING talaga..

    2. Kahit anong business naman may ilalabas kang pera kaya no need to worry ka nga dapat in network marketing kasi in MLM you can offer products and services with their system unlike sa own business mo need mo pa gumawa or mag isip ng strategy para makabenta ka.. at talagang need lang talaga ng legitimate networking.. i agree sa 3 things you need to consider in choosing network marketing.. dahil hindi ngunit may kapalit na product is hindi na scam because in my own opinion. bakit may referal bonus pa tapos yung pera naman na yun galing din pala sa taong pumasok edi parang lokohan nalang yun.. parang direct selling company lang sila na ginamit yung tao para magbenta in terms of packages tapos para ganahan sila may REFERAL BONUS na tinatawag.. like 7890 or something na ilalabas tapos yung kapalit naman na product is worth 6k lang.. yung ROI mo BAWAS na agad. yung isa naman 10800+ yung worth of product worth 8k lang.. bakit ganun diba? kasi may kinikita na sila una palang kaya after pumasok ng tao babye na.. pinagkakitaan na.. kaya i suggest if you're looking for network marketing try to search on the best network marketing international now only in the philippines at dapat stable company.. para hindi magsara dahil mahirap magtayo ng network tapos in 10 years or 20 years magsasara din pala. kawawa naman yung tao.. and dapat hindi lang sa (DOWNLINE) nanggagaling ang kita pati sa (UPLINE).. ibig sabihin kahit sino makabenta kikita parin yung nasa pinaka baba.

Tapos may iba pang iniisip na "what if may downline or ma sponsor ka na halimaw", at may "dream team pa". Kaya kayong gusto maging Networker or Multi-Level-Marketer, mahirap ang trabaho natin, at dapat idevelop yung customers at may value dapat yung products.

    6. Anonymous22 May 2014 22:25 perfectly said.. Im from OrganoGold and i admit may nakita akong irregularities sa company ko thats why napadpad ako dito kasi gusto kong gawing tama ang pag b-business ko with my company. Kudos to you bro!

May alam akong 16year-old company na kelangan mo lang mag purchase ng 2 bottles ng product nila, distributor ka na. and if u sell those 2 bottles you will earn 20%. so balik na yung pera mo, may kita ka pa. and patented yung produkto and sila lang sa buong mundo ang may kakayanang gumawa nun. Pag may na sponsor ka, meron ka pa ring referral bonus. and pag kumita yung sa taas, kahit nasa baba ka, may posyento ka din. sobrang ganda pa ng trainings nila. and pag nag p-present sila, nag s-serve ng full meal after ng presentation. and yung pinaka magandang Hotel sila nang lugar kung saan sila mag p-present.

Ganun talaga yung totoong Network Marketing. Yung company nila is a Research company, not a network marketing company, pero they are distributing their product through MULTI LEVEL MARKETING. i never had a chance to join that company. hahai. ka sayang.

Search or Google an article like how to spot or checklist if the MLM is a scam or not. Yes google and search the advantage of MLM over other industries. Theres a lot. Para biased at hindi bitter ang dating :-)

    10. There is no need to hate this post. if the things that were said are hurtful to you, I ask you to evaluate yourself first before responding negatively. sabi nga, "bato bato sa langit ang tamaan wag magalit. ang pikon ay laging talo."

If you are reading this kind of posts, you should at least be open minded. The author's Introductory line states that This type of business is not necessarily a SCAM but a legit business model.
However, he or she also mentioned the bad side of this type of business because there are SCAMERS that use this business model.

If you are in the business because you believe their products are beneficial to their clients then good for you. Go ahead and spread the word. Business thrive thru sales. without sales from consumers, there will be no earnings. Imagine if the everyone becomes a seller but no one is buying the product? what will happen to the business in the long run?

there maybe good companies but there are a lot of bad companies too. So evaluate yourself and your company again.

Wanting to be rich is not a bad thing. networking is not a bad thing. what makes it bad is when you promote being RICH first BEFORE promoting the product. ITS A WARNING SIGN!

I analyze the "1BRO" MLM and I think that there is no product. They boost you that they're product is the loading but actually they don't earn there. They earn by direct referrals. They don't seel products. I remember attending their presentation and I can remember that they are boosting you to recruit to earn rather than sell their loads. So I would say that it is indeed a scam.

  5. good morning, naging member din ako ng ilang company. nakaupo na rin sa sandamakmak na business orientations and seminars and here are some of my thoughts on the matter.

seems there is a very very fine line between productbased pyramid schemes and legit multilevel marketing. ginawa ko na lang 50% ang baseline para mas madali ma-gets

If MORE than 50% of the sales are to customers (including these "misclassified/consumer type" distributors) then it's MLM. (example: avon, ever bilena, marikina shoe exchange)

If LESS than 50% of product sales are to customers then it's a product-based pyramid scheme. (primary focus is on selling the "dream" or the "opportunity" instead of the actual products.) parang medyo mahirap i-process no? kasi ang labas.. the products are just a front for the "dream" and the only way to achieve that "dream" is to sell the same "dream" to others. ano tawag dun? kulto! lol.

you can't be blamed. the company feeds you the propaganda about their top earners, their success stories at higit sa lahat mga tseke nila. we're only human, mabilis tayo natatablan ng ganito kasi lahat tayo may mga gastusin.

which makes wonder IS IT REALLY WHOLESALE PRICE? and then you realize na binabayaran mo rin company profit and at the same time ang mga commissions ng mga uplines mo.

which is why, the only way to really earn is to become a good little cult member and recruit! go after your friends and family first. tama lang yan na sila ang una mong mga biktima.

  7. Have a bad experience with these MLM/pyramid scams. An old friend asked me to join her for coffee. Catch up daw since it's been a long time na huli kaming nag usap. I'm a student in one of the best schools in the country and you're saying i'm stupid? Parang may mali.
And please whoever said walang yumayaman sa employment world is wrong! Ano ba kasing yaman ang gusto niyo? Parents ko parehong employee LANG. pero may bahay kami may sasakyan nakaka out of the country may mga luho na nabibili.

    2. "they remain poor all their life because they do not want to take advantage of what they have and use nothing but his pride."

I had a schoolmate once who joined AIM global and tried to recruit me way back 2012. Kesyo "I'll remain poor in employment DAW." :)

She always post about it on facebook, boasting about how great the company is, na kikita ka talaga DAW. Nagpost pa nga siya ng picture ng kotseng she was planning to buy and she said na within a year DAW, mabibili na nia yun.

Wala. Then days ago, she posted a link about investing in stocks, captioned, "I've been once so wrong and did a bad step in investing..." or words to that effect. Whether she was pertaining to the AIM Global Investment or not, ewan ko lang.

15 Stupid people always think they are right. Wise people listen to advice. 16 When a fool is annoyed, he quickly lets it be known. Smart people will ignore an insult. 17 When you tell the truth, justice is done, but lies lead to injustice. 18 Thoughtless words can wound as deeply as any sword, but wisely spoken words can heal. 19 A lie has a short life, but truth lives on forever. 20 Those who plan evil are in for a rude surprise, but those who work for good will find happiness. 21 Nothing bad happens to righteous people, but the wicked have nothing but trouble. 22 The Lord hates liars, but is pleased with those who keep their word. 23 Smart people keep quiet about what they know, but stupid people advertise their ignorance. 24 Hard work will give you power; being lazy will make you a slave. 25 Worry can rob you of happiness, but kind words will cheer you up.

  9. "Everything is a pyramid, your family, church, school, your job and even the government. They have one head or at least a person above you who is over you and better off than you. Therefore we are not any different."

Networkers who spurt this statement clearly do not understand the fact that if the CEO doesn't receive the majority of his company's earnings he won't be able to pay overhead expenses, much less provide income for his workers. These defensive networkers are, therefore, flat-out stupid and have no business attempting logic. To start with, a traditional business's somewhat pyramidic structure owes itself to the hierarchy of the people that run it. If there is no hierarchy in a supposedly systematic organization then what we get instead is anarchy. But I hope you brainless twits understand that high-ranking employees usually have worked their way to the top by using their education and skills, and maybe also by making use of the achievements they've accumulated under their belt. Please do not compare these positions to managerial / supervisory versus regular employees. In the first place, a regular employee's salary do not suffer deductions just so his higher ups or superior officers get a share of what is supposed to be his. Right from the start, alam mo na na mas malaki ang sweldo ng mga tao sa opisina na mas mataas ang posisyon sayo. And these managers and VP's get higher salaries because they hold more responsibilities and are always in charge with the most complicated workload of the company. At bakit? Kasi mas nauna sila mag-sign up sayo? Does that sound fair to you? And you can't deny that recruitment is the primary income source of companies like UNO and Royale. I can easily back this statement up by linking here my ROYALISTA FB "friends". They steadfastly insist that you can earn a million ways if you join them. For one thing, you can sell beauty producst, pero bakit ang updates nila sa facebook every 1 hour (no exaggerations) go like "tulungan kita maachieve mga pangarap mo. text me." And all such thinly-veiled recruiting schemes. Minsan, masyado na desperado at nakakaawa na. Take my college classmate for instance. He does nothing else besides recruiting and berating employees. Royalista din siya. Hindi daw magiging milyonaryo ang employees. Bakit yung tito ko, employee for forty years and one day I accidentally peeked through his bank statement sa citibank. more than 2 million US dollars ang laman and napaaral na niya sa UCLA yung apat niyang anak.

  10. Continuation:

Siguro nga ung mga empleyado na tulad ko have no definite means of acquiring millions through my profession. But I am not so blinded by luxuries and other vices and would definitely go as far as to chase my dreams like how these Royalista people do it. I won't venture to sacrifice my dignity my spouting shady nonsense and have people whispering behind my back as if I've lost my mind. True, It would be swell if I were to be a millionaire but reality suggests it isn't as possible as I want it to be. If getting 3% chance of achieving millions of pesos means staying up all day in business meetings and spending more than eight hors a day trying to convince people to be your downline, then I would rather try my luck somewhere else. Yan ang nangyari sa college classmate ko. Tuluyan na niya pinakawalan ang trabaho niya sa Makati to be a full-time networker. Every day he heads somewhere else, minsan out of town pa, just so to do his sales talk. There have been lots of days na wala siya na recruit. Is that better than sitting behind a desk 8 hours a day, five days a week? I think not. At least kami may resulta every day. There is progress. It's not my cup of tea to go home late at night seven days a week, with my voice busted from screaming "POWER!" "GRabe talaga Royale." all day. Ano nangyari sa kanya ngayon? Well, he announced more than a year ago na before 2014 may sportscar na siya. Asan na? Wala parin. Anong pecha na? AYoko magyabang, pero empleyado ako for six years na. I've been in my current job for eight months now. And because my experience and initial performance were pretty much sufficient to earn myself a good reputation in the eyes of my managers, I was immediately promoted and have managed to purchase my first car . It isn't fancy; nothing like the sportscars networkers like to parade on social networking sites, pero yung down payment I cashed out for that was equivalent to my savings from having worked for six months in the company. Mura lang if u have a steady income and kung supervisor ka na. Kayang kaya kung wala kang pamilya na binubuhay like me. Pero pinaghirapan ko yun. Todo ipon ako for that one lone achievement. Yun ang reward ko as an employee. Having a car of my own has been one of my goals. So wag niyo naman sabihin na napakahirap iachieve ang goals sa life if we choose to stay as employees. Mahirap, pero kayang kaya.

But I just want to say na MLM is a legitimate business. At yun yung maganda dapat. They function as real companies, without lang ung cost ng ads kaya imbes na sa advertisements mapunta, sa network marketers na part ng team mapupunta. Kasi essentially, network marketing is word of mouth marketing.

Wag lang talaga i-generalize ang MLM as an "undignified" thing to do. Kasi may iba pa talaga dyan na malinis ang ginagawa and just like any other business, ang goal is to move products and make the products known to people, to their network.

      Delete
  11. Yeah, I want to be a millionaire, but my current situation now gives me enough reason to be contented. My answer to that is a clear 'yes.'. WALA ako pakialam kung napakayaman ng boss ko as long as he gives his employees the benefits and the compensation commensurate with the work they do. May allowances pa. And more importantly, there's no need for me to resort to desperate measures in order to earn money. HIndi ko kelangan punuin yung facebook page ko ng "Salamat Lord at dinala mo ko sa Royale!" and to push my friends away para lang kumita. In fact, I only have to sit behind a computer and apply what I learned from college and from my previous work. Nagamit ko pa yung pinag aralan ko for five years. OO nung umpisa, right after I graduated, mahirap dahil halos minimum wage lang bigay saken. Pero one year later nakaipon ako para makapag tour ako sa Europe with my family. Aaminin ko na pamasahe lang at pocket money ang ginastos ko, and the rest of the expenses (hotels & meals) were paid for by my parents. But I did achieve one of my many dreams through being a diligent, lowly employee. Last year nakarating naman ako ng amerika, dahil magaling nga ako mag tipid at mag-kuripot. If we don't want to stake the fate of our finances on the gamble that is networking, it perhaps means we value the honest sweat of our brows (that is, our savings) to that extent.

In many occasions he has boasted of receiving checks of astounding amounts. Every week daw siya nakaka tanggap ng ganun, hence it's "safe" to assume he earns more or less 150,000 pesos a month. Pero nakita ko siya na nagcocommute sa kahabaan ng Edsa samantalang he makes it a point to criticize employees who rest content in utilizing the MRT every day during rush hour. Pinost ng girlfriend niya ang regalo niya for their anniversary; isang stainless steel jewelry.

Some of you even go as far as to say "Kahit 100 years ka magtrabaho hindi mo matataasan yang sahod ng boss mo." One word: GAHAMAN. If you accept a job offer with this kind of idealism at hand, it must mean you did not hand them your CV with the honest intention of offering your services and getting the compensation you deserve. You are not the type of person who is likely to succeed in any other line of work simply because your only motivation is

    2. There may be few legit MLMs and most are scams. The legit ones, well are just legit. Not a great business. So why waste time. Spending your time with your loved ones makes more sense.
To say your product is great, why sell it thru MLMs? Selling it through traditional business makes more sense unless there is some hidden motives like the product is just hyped, overpriced or just a thrashy front for pyramid scam. Many people I know are involved in various MLMs and ended losing money. Don't tell me all of them aren't smart enough to do their research. One was raped 3 times by various MLMs. She could have studied more after failing the 1st one right? That makes me conclude that there aren't good MLMs out there. Even the legit ones makes marginal profit not enough for you to live decently.
One guy had his pitch in my FB saying that you will never get rich by being an employee. Well I earn good enough as lowly employee to pay cash my condo due next year. No debts and stock portfolio looking good. Last time I check that guy he is still with his Ma and Pa. He ocassionally shows checks by hundreds of thousands. I would be more convinced if he show his bank statement. One can easily write checks but cashing it out is another story.
My advise? Stick to your job and do great. Eventually you will be so good in your job that anothe company will be willing to pay you handsomely. Take it from a guy who used to be paid peanuts.

Do your homework. 22. For most MLMs, the product is really a mere diversion from the real profit-making dynamic. The product or service may well be good, and it might oversaturate at some point, but let's get serious. The product is not the incentive to join an MLM. Otherwise people might have shown an interest in selling this particular product or service before in the real world. The product is the excuse to attempt to legitimate the real money-making engine. It's "the cover."

Intuitively, we all know what is really going on with MLMs. Just don't use the word "pyramid"!

"You see, if you can convince ten people that everyone needs this product or service, even though they aren't buying similar products available in the market, and they can convince ten people, and so on, that's how you make the real money. And as long as you sell to a few people along the way, it is all legal." Maybe...

But the way to make money in all this is clearly not by only selling product, otherwise you might have shown an interest in it before, through conventional market opportunities. No, the "hook" is selling others on selling others on "the dream."

  24. woW! i love real mlm. but so sad coz in our country it is abused by many. infact it is the most abused profession. most of the people involved in the company mentioned above are driven by greed. they entice other people to register with multiple accounts just to make profit right away. becoz when you open multiple accounts, right away they can maximise the pairing commission. when they claimed they have so many millionaires in their company, imagined the number of victims they had con. the money of the victims made these people millionaires and not from the sales generated of products purchased but its in registering with multiple accounts.hope someone would be brave enough to have these companies deeply investigated, coz it doesn't mean that they are registered in SEC they are good. its easy to know if they're scam or not, by the language they used. inside their office you will hear them talk only about money and registering with them of course with multiple accounts. sabi nila thats the way to get to heaven. thats their system. so ingat ingat tayo sa mga buwaya nato. alam na alam nila kung mag kano kitain kasi nga puro recruit. kasi kung sa sales ng product basihan ang commission hindi mo malalaman yung figure na yon. mga recruiters matamaan sana kayo ng kidlat.

  25. Like anything else in this world, Network Marketing is what you make out of it. It can be a blessing to some but in can also be a curse..It can help people but it can also destroy..depending on how you use it..too bad some people take advantage of it and do it in a wrong way. but i think we shouldn't generalize as there are still some who do it ethically, sadly a few. And networking is just the means of doing a business..but if the business is networking itself, you might have to reconsider. so take time to research the company and the payplan as well as the suppport system before engaging into one. Just sayin. :)
